parachute play10 am: Parachute Play
Thirty minutes of fun with a parachute plus silly songs and rhymes will be just what your child needs to get the wiggles out! Bubbles, balls, and other props will ensure that the fun never stops!
(Recommended for ages 1 – 3 years with a caregiver)

10:45 am: Parachute Games
It’s parachute fun for the preschool crowd! Songs, rhymes, and games to keep your preschooler moving, laughing, and having fun!
(Recommended for ages 3-6 years with a caregiver)

6:30 pm: Family Movie Night
Join us for a FREE movie and popcorn in a family friendly atmosphere! All ages welcome – Movies Rated G or PG. Please call for this month’s title! Popcorn provided by the library!

5:30 – 7:30 pm: Teen Anime Club
Do you love anime? Check out this new club! Watch anime, have some snacks, and socialize. Content will be PG/PG13. First and third Friday of the month.

10 am: Preschool Power!
Story time for preschoolers, featuring songs, stories, and a craft. Now on Thursdays!
(Ages 3.5-5 years)

6 pm: All-Ages Chess Club
A chess club, for enthusiasts of all ages and abilities! Gather together to play, teach, and discuss strategy. Please bring your chess set. Second and fourth Thursday of the month.
(For all ages.)

Join us for our Family Story Times, which include a mix of stories, crafts, songs and fun! You never know what we’ll be doing next! For children and their caregivers.

Rosie Revere Engineer Book Cover11 am – 12 noon: Delaware Museum of Natural History Presents: Animal Engineers
We’ll begin the program by reading Andrea Beaty’s beloved story Rosie Revere Engineer and discover that people aren’t the only creatures on the planet that can be engineers. Take a look at some live animals that you can find in your own backyard that take building to the next level! Make717 logo3 pm – 3:45 pm: Soldering 101 – RESCHEDULED TO THURS., MAY 18TH AT 5:15PM
A special program for Teen Tech Week! Come and solder electronic parts onto a small circuit board under the instruction of electronic technicians or make717 volunteers. After completion, you will be able to take the board home with you.

5 pm: Teen Leadership Group Meeting
A volunteer initiative for teens! Do you want to make a difference at your library? Consider joining the Teen Leadership Group at the Quarryville Library! This is a group of teens who volunteer to plan, promote, and run teen programming in the library. Come to the meeting and find out what it’s all about!
(For ages 13 – 18.)

5:30 – 7:30 pm: Teen Talent Show
The Quarryville Library Teen Leadership Group presents a winter Teen Talent Show! Come out and show off your special skill. Music, dance, sleight-of-hand, juggling: whatever your talent, you’re welcome!
Prizes: $25 for First Place, $10 for Second Place, & Free Movie Rentals for Third Place.

On the third Thursday of the month, we gather together to build creations out of Lego® Bricks. Each month we will choose a different theme to build about. Participants should NOT bring their own Legos®, only Library Legos® will be used, because creations will be displayed in the children’s area of the library all month long, for all to see! So join us for some creative building fun!

This 5-week series is a Parent/Child Workshop for parents and children ages birth to three. Each week offers opportunities for children to play with developmentally appropriate toys in a play group setting and for parents to meet and question community experts in the areas of child development, speech and language, nutrition, play, movement, and music.
(Ages birth to three, with a caregiver.)

4:30 – 5:15 pm: Crazy 8s, Season 2
Crazy 8s is a recreational after-school math club that helps kids enjoy the math behind their favorite activities. It’s math gone wild, nothing like your usual math club! Hands-on
games that get kids fired up about math! Space is limited, so please register by contacting Randi Kennedy, rkennedy@quarryvillelibrary.org or 717-806-1804. Please plan to attend all 8 sessions.

Rosie Revere Engineer Book Cover11 am – 12 noon: Delaware Art Museum Presents: Rosie Revere, Engineer
Young minds will love this story of aspiring engineer Rosie as she learns, tinkers, tries, and tries again. After the story students will enjoy learning about some of the Delaware Art Museum’s sculptural pieces and experimenting with how the artists create something both beautiful and brilliant! Finally, each student will get to build and decorate their own pint-sized parachute to help a figurine fly.
