The 2016 Summer Reading Program is Here!

The Quarryville Library is once again taking part in the county-wide Summer Reading Program. We have levels for all ages!

  • This year, logs are available for the following levels:
  • Read-Aloud, for ages 0-4 years
  • Junior, for ages 5-9 years
  • Tween, for ages 10-12 years
  • Teen, for ages 13-18 years

The logs will be available starting June 4, and the program runs through August 13th.

Special this summer for children of all ages: Quarryville Library is participating in Bedtime Math’s Summer of Numbers! Grab a star chart and stickers when you pick up your Summer Reading Logs; complete your star chart, return it to the library, and earn an additional prize from our Treasure Chest! This program is limited to 150 participants.

Special this summer for Juniors: Thanks to our partnership with CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health, we are holding the “Brush Twice-A-Day Challenge.” Each participant in the Junior category will receive a Health Hero Starter Pack. Children who complete the challenge as directed will receive a Health Hero Power Pack, and be entered into a drawing to win a Swag Bag, filled with back-to-school supplies worth up to $50. Please note that the CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health prizes will only be available during prize pick-up days.

Special this summer for Teens: we’re holding a special Teen Reading Challenge. The Challenge includes ten categories in which participants must read one book. Finishers in the challenge will be entered in a drawing for a new Kindle Fire.

This summer for adults: We are holding an Adult Reading Challenge: each time you finish a book, fill out a raffle ticket and place in the bucket. Four times throughout the summer we will pull a winner for our QVL prize pack. The prize packs will include:1 Quarryville Library Tote Bag, 3 Free Video Rental Certificates, $10.00 Grocery Card to Musser’s or Fergies, and 4 Advanced Reader’s Copies of a new book. More info will be forthcoming.
