Do you have a talent to share with our youth? We welcome willing hands: parents, teachers, teens, seniors, etc. There are many ways you can be involved! Lead a program by teaching a skill or sharing a hobby with young people. OUR STEM PROGRAMS ARE IN NEED OF EXTRA ADULT HANDS TO EXPAND THE OPPORTUNITY TO MORE CHILDREN! Assist at a big event, or help with shelving books. We can tailor a volunteer opportunity to your interests and abilities.

Do you know about our readers’ advisory form for children to help with selection of materials? A growing number of homeschool families are using this service, and we’ve been happy to get requests that have guided us to purchase a few new collection items to support those learning at home. You don’t need to be a homeschooling parent, if you would like assistance finding a ‘just right’ book please consider sending us the form!
1000 books before kindergarten logo
Early Literacy is what children know about reading and writing before they can actually read and write. This free program encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she enters school. One of the best ways to encourage learning is to spend time sharing books every day. Reading together helps develop important pre-reading skills that provide a solid foundation, a key to school and learning success. Plus, sharing stories together is fun! Ask for a folder at the Service Desk, or sign up with the Beanstack app!
