This series of five classes teaches basic cooking techniques with inexpensive recipe ideas.
Samples will be provided so we can taste test the recipes being made!

Learn an inexpensive one dish meal made in a cast iron skillet – This frittata, a quiche with no crust, can be made for breakfast or anytime.

Thursday, October 18, 6:00 – 7:30 pmVegetarian Meal
We will be making Garlic Parmesan Cauliflower, with Risotto and Roasted Tomatoes.
An all-in-one sheet pan supper or individual side dishes. Making these recipes we will learn seasoning and ways to improve the flavor of out of season produce. Instruction will include the different kinds of rice and the methods for cooking each, safety and proper use of knives.

Thursday, November 8, 6:00 – 7:30 pmPho Ga – Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup
Learn how to get the most out of a whole chicken at a minimal cost including how to make chicken stock. We will also cover shopping and where to find unfamiliar ingredients. Try something different that you may not make at home.

Friday, November 16, 4:00 – 5:30 pmClassic Margherita Pizza
Learn how to use a pizza stone to create your own homemade pizza, making pizza dough and sauce from scratch. We will cover how to follow a recipe and measuring accurately.

Friday, November 16, 6:00 – 7:00 pmChocolate Chip Cookies
We will cover the importance of following the recipe and using proper technique. In addition, we’ll learn the proper use of kitchen tools while baking a classic cookie recipe.

Registration is required to attend. Register for one class or all five.
