Holiday Bake & Book Sale

Join us at the library for a holiday sale and find some treasures and food to take home with you! Drop in on Friday, December 9, between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm or Saturday, December 10, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm to browse the selection of books, baked goods, and gift items.

Local Animals in Wintertime!

Thursday, December 29, 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Join our favorite naturalist Lisa Sanchez to dive deep into what our animal neighbors are doing when it gets cold! Some are hibernating, and others have different adaptation strategies. All ages; best for 5+. Click here to register.

Friday, December 16, 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Bring your favorite movie snack and join us for a heartwarming holiday film at the library! Please call to confirm the title. Best for ages 18+

Book donations

The Friends of the Library are accepting donations of clean, salable books on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm.

Winter Clothing Drive

Drop off like-new or handmade hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves at the collection box in the library! All donated items will be given to the Solanco Food Bank.

Solanco Neighborhood Ministries

The Solanco Food Bank is excited to offer Christmas boxes again this year. If you’d like to donate items for these boxes, please see the list below. Items will be collected through Wednesday, December 14. If donating perishable items, please make sure they are dated past Christmas Day.
  • Ham or ham steaks
  • Turkey gravy
  • Bag of baby or regular carrots
  • 1 bag potatoes or bag of frozen shredded hash browns
  • 1 bag shredded cheddar cheese (16 oz)
  • Sour cream (8 oz)
  • Onion
  • Butter or margarine
  • Graham cracker crust or box of graham crackers
  • Chocolate pudding
  • Whipped cream
The food bank is doing a reverse Advent calendar! Click here for details.
Donations may be dropped off Mondays through Thursdays from 9 am to 4 pm and Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm.
