Ernest Fauth Dollhouse on Display

The Quarryville Library is excited to display Ernest Fauth’s exquisite model of his 1895 York County home.  Ernest Fauth built the dollhouse in 1983 for his daughter Wilma after building replicas of Lancaster’s historic buildings, including; Rockland, Wheatland, the Andrew Ellicot home, and Columbia’s Wright’s Ferry Mansion.  Although considered a dollhouse to most, the home is actually a model of the original, built on a scale of one inch to a foot.

Ernest Fauth lived in Quarryville and retired from Pennsylvania Power & Light in 1965 where he was in charge of machine maintenance for the Holtwood Power Plant.  He was a member of the Quarryville Borough Council, the Solanco School Authority and a member of the Octorara Art Association.

The model home is accompanied by numerous newspaper articles and photos of the creator and his family.  The home and accessories are on loan from Wilma Fauth Jones and her son.  Please visit the library through April to get a glimpse of this beautiful work of art.
