Join the dig with Field Paleontologists Mike and Roberta Straka!
Interactive fossil talk to ready the Jr. Paleontologists to go on their dig! Field Paleontologist Mike will cover how and where fossils are found. See some amazing discoveries from the time of the dinosaurs to the time of the ice age. Paleontologist Roberta will take the Jr. Paleontologists on their dig. Locate some fossil bones during the dig, and with Roberta’s help, place the fossil bones on a Triceratops cut out. Youth will build a Triceratops with the fossil bones they discover during their dig.
After the dig, everyone may spend time viewing the fossil museum!
Ages 5 and up.

About the presenters: Mike and Roberta Straka have been conducting and managing paleontological digs in North and South Dakota since 1978. Each year, they teach paleontology and geology in elementary schools and libraries throughout NY, NJ and PA. In addition, Mike is the lead curator for the teams’ fossil collection. Roberta self-published her first children’s book, “Roberta’s Wonderful Dinosaur Adventure.” They are both excited to share their love of dinosaurs with libraries this summer.
