The Quarryville Library will host a meet-and-greet with various authors who will have books available for signing and purchase, including Carol A. Park, JP Robinson, Don Helin, J. Arthur Moore, Patricia L. Reese and Kevin Hewitt. Books will also be available for purchase from local author, Mary Boomsma. This event is free and open to the public.
Carol A. Park will be present with her books, Banebringer, the first book of the Heretic Gods trilogy, and Sweetblade, a stand-alone Heretic Gods novel. The Heretic Gods is a character-driven, atmospherically dark sword & sorcery adult fantasy series with a nuanced magic system and romantic subplot. JP Robinson is the author of In the Shadow of Your Wings and the Secrets of Versailles books, Twiceborn and Bride Tree. He began writing as a teen for a local newspaper. He holds degrees in both English and French and is a state-certified teacher. JP is known for weaving vivid plots with the goal of connecting readers to God. Don Helin is the author of Secret Assault, Devil’s Den, Thy Kingdom Come, Angel’s Revenge and The Long Walk Home. During his time in the military, Don Helin served at a number of stateside posts as well as overseas in Vietnam and Germany. He is the author of five thrillers that draw from his military experience, including three tours in the Pentagon. He writes for TheBurg, a community magazine based in Harrisburg. His novel, Secret Assault, was selected as the Best Suspense/Thriller at the 2015 Indie Book Awards. Don is a member of International Thriller Writers Society of America, Pennwriters, a statewide group in Pennsylvania, and is a mentor with the Mystery Writers of America. Patricia L. Reese is the author of the children’s book, The Wash Day Adventure. All of this occurs while Grampy takes a nap in the hammock, after hanging the wash. You will be delighted with the colorful illustrations and a surprise at the end of the book as well.
Kevin Hewitt is the father of two wonderful daughters, Emma and Isabella. He’s the author of the children’s book, If nobody reads nobody listens. It’s an alphabetical adventure about awesome animals, led by nobodys, characters with no bodies. It’s the first journal about their journey.
A family member for Mary Boomsma will be present with her books. She is the author of Andy’s Peach Bottom Railroad Adventures. Follow young Andy Grove as he spends the summer of 1912 with his grandparents in the river hills of southern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She is also the author of Recollections & Romance of the Peach Bottom Railway 1868-1881. In this book, she uses period newspaper accounts to explore the early history of the Peach Bottom Railway, a twenty-eight-mile-long-narrow-gauge railroad that connected the farming communities of southern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
