The Quarryville Library is offering a new monthly series of STEM activities! STEM, short for Science Technology, Engineering, and Math. STEM-based programming is all about getting kids and families excited about math and the sciences.
Thank you to the Wakefield Lions Club for funding this program!
The catapult is an exciting new unit in the physical sciences. Each student builds their own simple machine and experiments with particle dynamics. Objects of various mass are used so that students can observe, predict and measure the distance that the safe objects are propelled by the catapult.
These monthly programs are hands-on, using kits that attendees get to keep at the end!
Best for children ages 8 – 12 years of age.
Limited to 16 participants, so registration is preferred. Walk-ins welcome as class size allows.
