Ages 3 to 8 years with caregiver – other family members are welcome.

We’ve adapted this program to include a balanced storytime for a multi-age group!   We’re featuring some of this year’s Pennsylvania Young Readers’ Choice selections for the pre-K through third grade learners, and will offer suggestions for related fun activities for multiple ages and abilities to help build literacy and a love of reading!  Supplement your home school curriculum, or just come join the fun and find some great reading choices for your young child!  Use this Pennsylvania map to track the books your child reads!

November 4, 2020 – Today we’re featuring the actual author in a presentation of her selection!  Cece Bell’s “Chick and Brain:  Smell my foot!” .  This title is a graphic early reader, great for your beginners!  Who would imagine that good manners could be so funny! And wouldn’t you think that a
character named Brain would be pretty smart? But Brain doesn’t really use his brain in this funny graphic reader. “Maybe your foot smells good. Maybe your foot smells great. But I will not smell your foot until you say PLEASE.” Smell My Foot won a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor award.

October 7, 2020 Can I Be Your Dog? / Troy Cummings.  Homeschool/classroom suggestion:  Consider using the selection as a mentor text for your young elementary child.  Write a persuasive letter to someone who is a community helper asking them to ‘adopt you’.  You can pretend you’re any type of pet! Watch for a link to make your own dog toy later today!
