Story Corner / Early Literacy Lab
This meeting is only for children who signed up for the Young Writers Program in June. If you did not register, we encourage you to look for this program next summer.
This year we’ll have hybrid meetings – we will meet live in the library on the dates listed below, the rest of the program will be touching base with our writing coaches on the NaNoWriMo platform. We’ll use a laptop so that anyone who wants to Zoom in may join us from anywhere your summer travels take you! Attendance at the live meet ups or the annual Read-a-Thon is not required for participation. Please register if you will be attending the live meetings, so that we can set up the room for the proper number of attendees.
June 8 1:30 – 2:15
July 6: 1:30 – 2:15
August 3: 1:30-2:15
August 17 (for Read-a-Thon participants): 1:30 – 2:15
Aug. 20 Read-a-Thon date – times will be scheduled closer to the event.
On July 1, you’ll accept the challenge to write your very own novel! Yes you can do it!
In August we’ll all celebrate our success as a community of writers. We can share our projects to learn how to give and get gentle feedback, and maybe we’ll take the next step and publish it!
Registrants will receive a classroom code to join their age level group (K-2) or (3-5). Parents will be asked to review and sign NaNoWriMo permission forms for youth under age 13.
Our club has started and members are off and running to compose their novels! You may inquire with Youth Services if there is any adapted version of the challenge that your child may sign up for at this time. Thank you for your interest!
