10 – 11:30 am: Preschool Meet-Up
A casual, weekly meet-up for parents with preschool-age children! Bring the little ones, gather in our Early Literacy Lab, and play the morning away. A great way to meet other local parents and caregivers and for your child to make new friends.

Thursday, July 5

10 – 11 am: Summer Reading Club
Make finishing that reading log a breeze with our Summer Reading Club! Each club meeting will feature a new book to read together and enjoy. All attendees will receive a copy of that week’s book to keep forever, courtesy of the Solanco Family Life Network! Registration required, limited to 10 participants. Registration includes all club meetings: Thursday mornings for an hour from June 28 – August 16. This activity is currently full.

2 – 3 pm: Giggle Magic Presents, Toolbox Kidz Show
Marcy Klutchka, aka Giggle Magic to perform “Toolbox Kidz Show”. Meet Chicken Patti, use some tools in this silly & fun show, know that for friendships-our special toolbox tool is KINDNESS! 4:15 – 5:30 pm: Junior Master Gardener Club Meeting
If you and your child are interested in gardening, check out our new Junior Master Gardener Club! We plan to learn about gardening and cultivating various types of plants, including vegetables and flowers.

6:30 pm: Family Movie Night
Join us for a FREE movie and popcorn in a family friendly atmosphere! All ages welcome – Movies Rated G or PG. This month, we’re watching a recent film based on the beloved Newbury-winning novel by Madeline L’Engle, featuring an intrepid young woman on a quest to save her father. Please contact the library at 717-786-1336 for the specific title. Popcorn provided by the library!

Join us for some parachute hi-jinx, featuring popular parachute games and activities. Meets weekly through July 27 for 60 minutes.
(Best for ages 7 – 12.)

2 – 3 pm: Teen-Led Acting Workshop
Budding actors, take note! The Teen Leadership Group is holding a 6 week Acting Workshop. Learn all the basics of the profession, with a capstone Showcase on August 17th! Runs on Friday afternoons July 6 – August 10, with the final showcase on August 17. Registration includes all workshop meetings and the showcase, so please plan to attend all dates. Explore and hear animals that communicate through songs. Live critters – Horseshoe Crab, Amphibian, and maybe even an Owl! Presented by The Center for Aquatic Science. The Center for Aquatic Sciences is the Environmental nonprofit partner of Adventure Aquarium. Our mission is to promote the understanding, appreciation, and protection of aquatic life & habitats. We’ll give away 2 mini-figures each week, and you can enter to win one of our grand prizes: a Lego set to be given away, one at week 5 and another at week 11 of the club. Sponsored by Coatesville Savings Bank.

It’s parachute fun for the preschool crowd! Songs, rhymes, and games to keep your preschooler moving, laughing, and having fun! 30 minutes.

1 – 3 pm: Summer Spanish Workshop
Buenos días! Learn or practice your Spanish at our Summer Spanish Workshop, taught by a local university professor. Each week, we’ll learn words and phrases based on themes from the animated film Coco. Pre-watching the film is encouraged but not required. Registration is required, limited to 20 participants. This is a group of teens who volunteer to plan, promote, and run programs and activities for kids and teens in the library. They also help us choose what items to buy for the library. Come to the meeting and find out what it’s all about!

A book club with a silver screen twist! For each month this summer, we will read a book and then watch the movie. Discover some great books, some great movies, and then decide which you prefer! For this meeting, we’ll be reading The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick and watching the film inspired by the book. Each participant will receive a free copy of the book to read before the meeting, and fun movie snacks at the meeting! Limited to 15 participants.
