Library Services and COVID-19

Book drop, library materials, fines, and other library services affected during the closure. 

BOOK DROP
The Quarryville Library book drop is open. If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms of illness, please wait until you’re feeling better to return your items.

To guard against possible exposure, all returned materials will be quarantined for seven (7) days before they are processed for circulation. Therefore, items may appear as “checked out” on your library account for approximately eight (8) days after you return them.

Your items will be backdated to the date you returned them, to avoid erroneous fines. If you have specific questions about your checked out items, please call the library at (717) 786-1336 or email library@quarryvillelibrary.org

Please do not renew items you returned to the library!  These items may still appear to be checked out on your account because they are in quarantine.  Renewing your returned items may incorrectly place a fine on your account.

BRIEF LIBRARY VISITS
The library is now open for brief visits with capacity limits. For the safety of patrons and staff members, social distancing and masks are required when entering and occupying the building. Children under 3 years old are not required to wear a mask. Please do not visit the library if you are sick or not feeling well. If you cannot wear a mask or would prefer no contact outside pickup, we are providing outside pickup services on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. If these times do not suit you, you may call the library to set up an outside pickup appointment during our open hours.

REQUESTING ITEMS
As of 7/6/20, the county-wide OPAC public library catalog is now available for patrons to directly reserve materials!  Please note that Manheim Township and Ephrata Libraries are not guaranteeing delivery of materials at this time. Click here for more information or to complete an order form.

NEW LIBRARY CARDS
During this time, Quarryville Library patrons can request new library cards by calling the library at 717-786-1336. Patrons will be asked to complete the registration process in-person when they are able to come into the library.

LIBRARY CARD EXPIRATION DATES
If your library card is about to expire, please call 717-786-1336 during our posted service hours or send an email to library@quarryvillelibrary.org and we will extend your expiration date.

PASSPORTS BY APPOINTMENT
Appointments for passport services are available. Please call 717-786-1336 during our posted service hours or send an email to library@quarryvillelibrary.org to make an appointment.

 

The health and safety of our patrons, staff, and volunteers is a top priority for the Quarryville Library. We are working hard to develop guidelines and procedures that will allow us to provide library services to the Quarryville community in the safest manner possible.
