Registration is required for most of our youth programs except where noted. We open registration for each following month on the 15th day of the current month. If you are registered and find you can’t attend, thank you for being considerate and ‘unregistering’. When events are overbooked we cannot guarantee your spot if you do not arrive on time. Thank you for understanding.
Crazy 8’s is a math club unlike any other! It offers unique, high-energy math activities that appeal to kids of all math abilities. We meet for 8 weeks from October 3 through November 21. We are offering two sessions – please choose the one that meets your child’s age. Registering for the first week will enroll you for the entire session.
Have you seen our newest Storywalk® exhibit? Whose Shoes by Stephen R. Swinburne is a great nonfiction book that lets kids learn about careers in a fun way. Fill out and bring in one of the papers at the start of the path to let us know you came, and you will be eligible for a prize (Longwood Gardens pass) through the end of September.
In honor of National Costume Swap Day, we’re having our own costume swap at the library! How it works:
1) Swap! October 3 through October 11 during library hours. Donate gently used baby, toddler, and kids costumes and accessories at the library front desk and get a voucher.
2) Shop! October 13 from 4-6 pm. Use your vouchers to buy other costumes! Cash sales are also welcome.
Drop in anytime between 10:30 to 12:00 to ‘walk the pumpkin trail’ through various areas around the library, and choose to stay for all of the fun or just stay long enough to show off your costume! Enjoy “not-so-scary” stories, crafts, and STEAM-enriched activities geared toward younger children. Ages 3-8 with caregiver.
Join us on October 10 at 10:30 am for a special firefighter storytime with the Quarryville Fire Department! We’ll celebrate Fire Prevention Week with stories, songs, crafts, and of course – the fire truck!
This program is for children ages birth to 6 with parent or caregiver.
If you are interested in eclipse watching, look for some fun activities coming in October that you can do on your own and turn in to get some eclipse viewing glasses!
RAISING A THINKING CHILD
This FREE, in-person series is a great opportunity for parents and caregivers of children between the ages of 4-7 to learn how to best support their child in becoming an effective problem-solver. Space is limited! Register by September 24 using the QR code or emailing agermer@caplanc.org. Dinner and childcare provided. Program will only be held if we have sufficient registrants.

“Haunted Lancaster” learn folklore of our area! October 26 at 6 pm
Teens who are seeking employment can get help finding internships through PA CareerLink, and learning digital literacy skills through our partnership with Millersville University.
