Summer Reading is almost over!

Stop by the library by August 3 to pick up your “Bookopoly” game, and complete at least 6 unique spaces by August 10 to finish the program. For every additional 3 spaces completed, you get an extra chance to win a Longwood Gardens Family Pass!

Fridays at 1:00 pm, August 2 – September 6. Dr. Robert Frick will offer a slide series discussing six American activists. Presentations will be filled with interesting facts and peppered with humor. For adults and older teens. Click here to register.

Thursday, August 8, 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Join staff from the Railroad Museum of PA who will offer a lecture and Q&A about four historic railroad jobs, along with photos and artifacts. For adults and interested older youth. Click here to register.

Adult Writing Group

Are you interested in joining an adult writing group? We want to hear from you! Click here to complete our quick survey. We plan to do a trial run of the group during September and October and then re-evaluate the structure and meeting time to see what works best for the group.

Join the Friends!

The Friends of the Library are looking for help as they support the library by holding book sales and an annual holiday cookie and gift sale, operating the bookstore, running food services during Go-Fore Golf, and more. Any time you can offer is greatly appreciated! Click here for more information.

Looking for a way to help the community? Solanco Neighborhood Ministries is currently in need of the following items:
  • Tomato/chicken noodle soup (10 oz. can)
  • Mayonnaise
  • Saltines
  • Cereal
  • Pudding cups
  • Applesauce cups
  • Fruit cups
  • Diapers (sizes: 4, 5, 6, and pull-ups)
  • Baby wipes

Donations may be dropped off Monday through Thursday from 9 am – 4 pm and Friday from 9 am – 12 pm. Non-perishable donations may also be dropped off at the library.

The Ministry is also collecting school supplies for their annual back-to-school giveaway. These items can be donated until Friday, August 9th. Click here for a complete list of the supplies that are needed.
