Go-Fore Golf Fundraiser

Saturday, February 10, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. All ages (and golfing abilities) are invited to come out of the cold and play a unique round of miniature golf through the stacks of the library! Click here for more information or to register.

Nature’s Candy!

Thursday, February 15, 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Lisa Sanchez will teach us about everything you need to know about maple syrup! Learn how to identify maple trees, some of the history of sugaring, and how to do it locally. Participants will also be given a sample of syrup cooked longer than usual (candy) to try! Thursday, February 29, 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Join librarian and local history enthusiast, Keith Greenawalt, on a whirlwind tour of regional museums and historic sites. All the sites are within approximately two hours of Lancaster and make for great day trips! Click here to register.

As part of our 2024 Author Series, Dr. Robert Frick will offer a slide series discussing his self-published book, Robber Barons. Participants should prepare for lively presentations filled with interesting facts and peppered with humor. Tax Assistance

Members of United Way of Lancaster County’s VITA program will be providing free tax preparation at the library for individuals with a household income of $70,000 or less. Click here for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Millersville University is partnering with the library to provide free personalized assistance for all your computer and technology needs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, from now through the end of February.

The Friends of the Library are looking for help as they support the library by holding book sales and an annual holiday cookie and gift sale, operating the bookstore, running food services during Go-Fore Golf, and more. Looking for a way to help the community? Solanco Neighborhood Ministries is currently in need of the following items:
Easter Bag Needs:
  • Ham/ham slices or Giant gift card
  • Canned green beans (2)
  • 20 oz. can of pineapple (1)
  • 1lb. bag of long carrots (1)
  • 5 lb. bag of fresh potatoes (1)
  • Yellow or white cake mix (1)
  • Container of vanilla frosting (1)
  • Dozen eggs (1)
  • 1 lb. box of butter/margarine (1)
  • Bag of jelly beans (1)
  • Bag of shredded coconut (1)

Please drop off Easter items by Friday, March 22 (fresh produce not before Feb. 18)
